Re: “Councillor caught on YouTube ‘exercising’ middle finger at protesters,” March 6.
Langford Coun. Denise Blackwell has been caught on tape giving the finger to citizens at a council meeting.
Anyone else behaving this way would have been summarily arrested by city council’s RCMP friends, thrown out and ridiculed by the media.
It’s no surprise that the corrupt dealings of Langford have raised public concern to a fevered pitch.
As if it hasn’t already bent over backward enough for its greedy friends, city council plans to hand over $25 million of public money for a loan on behalf of the Bear Mountain developers.
Your article states, “The money is being repaid by five development landowners in the area.”
Since when was journalism a predictive science? Who knows if the developers will repay the money? If the scheme was as sound and beneficial as we’re told, the developers would raise their own money.
Even though the forest has been destroyed, this is not a done deal. The public outrage is far from over.
