Two notices about applications to exclude two land from the Agricultural Land Reserve in the Happy Valley area were posted in the Goldstream Gazette on Friday, May 30th, in the back of the paper on page A24 (lower right-hand corner). One is at 3634 Happy Valley Road and the other is next door at 3622 Happy Valley Road. The lot at 3622 has previously been operated it as productive hobby farm and horse pasture.
If you would like to register your opinion on this, the notice says people have until June 13 to send comments to the owner and to the City of Langford by mailing the owners and City Hall. The notice does not suggest that people contact the “Agricultural Land Commission”, who is charged by the province with managing the ALR and exclusions from it, but anyone who would like to do so can get the email, regular mail, and phone contact info here.
