While this news is not Langford-specific, it nonetheless affects all Langford residents and I’ve heard surprisingly little about in the media, so thought I’d mention it here for those who aren’t yet aware.
Starting on June 23rd of this year, Langford residents (as well as all other residents of the 250 area code) will have to start dialing 10 digits to place a local phone call. Instead of dialing 478-7882 to call our City Hall, for example, in three weeks you will have to dial 250-478-7882. People will have to give some consideration to updating speed dial lists and old computer modems that use phone lines.
