Chris Antsey of the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association has proposed (GVVA) presented a proposal on behalf of the District of Metchosin at Langford’s Council meeting tonight, meant as an alternative to the one proposed by West Shore Parks and Rec (WSPR) that would replace the velodrome and one of Juan de Fuca’s BMX tracks with a stadium. The Metchosin proposal is to put a regulation CFL-sized stadium on Juan de Fuca Rec’s “Field 3″ and to increase parking down in that area of the regional rec centre. The GVVA and Metchosin request that no action be taken on modifying the velodrome until after qualified independent research on the new proposal has been conducted.
