The November 2008 issue of Focus Magazine asked a random sample of municipal candidates running in the Greater Victoria/CRD area the question, “What’s your dream city?” Candidates from the WestShore that appear in the article include Ute Schnarr – candidate for the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area, Judith Cullington and Shaun Wysiecki – candidates for Colwood Council, and Steven Hurdle – candidate for Langford Council.
Focus Magazine is mailed to some homes, rotating to different neighbourhoods over the course of a year, and is found in neighbourhood pick-up boxes and various businesses around Greater Victoria area. The Thrifty Foods at Colwood corners has a wide variety of local magazines, including Focus Magazine.

However, it was good that 12 of the 13 candidates were able to attend, only Harry Kuiack did not Read the rest of this entry »

Keith Martin will be staying on as this area’s MP, as the vote recount sought by Conservative candidate Troy DeSouza was terminated by Troy when it became evident that that number of disputed ballots could not overturn the small margin that Keith Martin won by, as reported in the Victoria Times Colonist.
