We received this report from a Florence Lake resident, and I don’t know quite what to make of it, as itt seems an odd night to have a big fireworks display, and it seems odd that the neighbouring area wasn’t informed if they were going to be blocking off roads and creating a lot of light and noise. If anyone has any information about this, please hit the comments below.
Around 11:00pm. this evening explosive noises could be heard echoing all around Florence Lake. We have had fireworks around Halloween and New Year before, but this was much louder and accompanied by large sheets of white light in the sky. As we are subjected to endless days of blasting I was worried that some one had got into blasting material and illegally set it off. I phoned the non emergency number for the RCMP to report this event. I was put on hold and then told it had been reported by others and that officers were going to investigate.
