Tues. Committee Meetings at City Hall

On Tues. Oct. 14, there will be two meeting on the 3rd floor of Langford’s City Hall. The Administration and Finance Committee will meet at 4:45PM and will consider the 2007 Financial Report and the Audit Findings, as well as the monthly approval of accounts payable for September 2008. The Transportation and Public Works Committee will meet at 5:30PM and be considering “latecomer” agreements for developers.

Some highlights from the 48 page Admin. & Finance agenda include multiple mentions of the almost $1/2 million cost to the City of Langford for the purchase of Leigh Rd. homes for the Spencer Road Interchange project, on behalf of the developers who were to carry all the costs. Federal candidates on Langford issues

At the beginning of the federal election campaign, I sent a questionnaire out to the four declared candidates at that time about their connection to Langford and any policies they support that are specific to our community. Here was the wording of the question:

What, if any, connection do you have to Langford in the past or present, what history do you have with the riding if any (activism with a Langford bent for example), and what policies if any do you have that are unique to Langford (not things of national importance, but things specifically with Langford in mind)?
