PZ&A (Planning, Zoning, and Affordable Housing), T&PW (Transportation and Public Works), and A&F (Administration and Finance) are all having meeting this coming week. Monday has a PZ&A meeting, the other two are on Tuesday. Agendas for all three are available on the City of Langford website, and here on Inside Langford in the Files section on the left sidebar.

The Planning, Zoning, and Affordable Housing Committee meeting on Monday, November 9th will have a proposal brought forward for a 14 storey senior’s housing complex to be built on Jacklin Rd. right across from Ruth King School.

Just want to let people know about this because we understood that the present height restriction in Langford is 6 stories. I personally don’t want to see a 14 storey building in Langford and certainly not across from an elementary school.

You would think that one of the newly-built condos which conform to present height restrictions might be used for seniors housing. One of them is just around the corner from the proposed complex. The devil in me wonders if the moniker ‘seniors’ housing’ isn’t being used to get the height restriction removed?

Speaking of Acronyms there are several. For instance, LOL-Laughing out loud or LMAO-Laughing my ass off.
