Monday Night Langford Council Meeting

The agenda is up for the Langford Council meeting on Monday night. It’s sizeable and, as is their custom, City Hall staff have broken it down into three parts: part 1, part 2, and part 3. The rotating parts of the agenda are below:

This meeting’s in-camera resolution is for new service, property acquisition, and lititgation.

a) That it is the opinion of Council that the public interest requires that persons other than members of Council and Officers be excluded from the meeting to consider confidential information regarding New Service, Property Acquisition and Litigation under section 90 (1) (k) (e) and (g) of the Community Charter.
b) That Council continues the meeting in closed session.”

There will be consideration of the recent Planning & Zoning Committee recommendations suggesting approval of a six storey building at 911 Jenkins Avenue to allow for a 157 unit Assisted Living Apartment and a Church that saw many neighbours turn out to the meeting to express their strong opposition to the 6 storey height. The committee also considered a subdivision along the ALR boundary of 3420 Luxton Road to allow for an ‘appropriate use,’ that was deemed to be “a residential dwelling” when the committee was questioned as to the purpose of the subdivsion. Also ‘Take 2′ on the City of Langford 2009 Annual Report being submitted to Council and this time it is available on the City of Langford website at:
