As always, all content that meet the comment posting guidelines will be approved without editing, without regard to whether anyone involved with Inside Langford agrees or disagrees with their election platform.

Proposed new aerator for Langford Lake

The “PARKS, RECREATION, CULTURE AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE MEETING” agenda is up for download. The agenda has a verbal report on a proposed new aerator for Langford Lake. At previous Parks & Rec meetings it has been suggested that the Westhills development may be willing to pay for a new aerator, in exchange for being allowed to use Langford Lake for geothermal heat management.

Council Meeting, and upcoming election

The Langford Council meeting agenda is up for download.
Also available on the City of Langford’s “Election Information” page is the official declaration of candidates. Things of note on it include the full slate of incumbents running again, plus two challengers for mayor, and two challengers for Council. Oddly, two of the challengers (one for each position) have the last name “Horgan”, no word yet on whether they’re related to our MLA, John Horgan.

Council meeting Monday night

West Shore Park proposal is in the running for big bucks and needs your votes to win!

A West Shore Parks and Recreation Society and Colwood Rotary proposal for an inclusive Picnic Playground is in the running in a national contest, having made it into the final top 5 competition, beating out hundreds of entries from across Canada.
